Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Look for one that offers an easy navigation, can sweep corners and stairs, and has a large dust bin that requires emptying only every few times.
There are models that mop and charge themselves this is an option essential for families with pets or children. The top performers in our tests also have good obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it fills up.
Both robots are good in removing dirt and dust particles on hard floors and carpets and are able to move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and may have issues navigating across surface transitions like from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line and is equipped with the most recent features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot via the app or by voice.
The i7+ is quicker and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying which removes a major source of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets, and then pick up large particles or fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments and the clip for a wand. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a typical not an extraordinary time to run an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to cover every area (though an additional run-through often will suffice). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum cleaner sale vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area many times for a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice addition.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your best home vacuum cleaner. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to navigate itself. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation options.

In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it wasn't particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing.
