Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and best automatic vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time and without the need to switch devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal precisely what the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops has completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other best robotic mop and vacuum cleaners might miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
