Item Upgrading Isn t As Tough As You Think

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade item component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon a reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will be obsolete or even break if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance an Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different number of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When the player upgrade the equipment they have, the base item is replaced by a new item. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you don't require it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original condition and the player having to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade item occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
