The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can place an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right side, an image of the gear will look like at its next level. Once players have enough materials by pressing the yellow arrow, it will start the upgrade process.
A piece of equipment can be upgraded up to five times. Each time it is upgraded, the base stats of an item will be increased by only a tiny amount. The maximum level for an item level upgrade is 19.

Requirements
Upgrades to items give players the ability to increase certain stats of armor and weapons that they currently have equipped. The requirements to upgrade an item differ based on the type of item but generally, you'll need Dilithium and a variety of Upgrade Tokens (various options are available).
The upgrade items can be incorporated into equipment sets and weapons for additional effects or to increase the quality item. Upgrades can be beneficial to some items, but not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players if they can get a perfect roll. For example, a perfect-rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly valued in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x more than the non-upp'd version.
When you select an upgrade component to be inserted into an item, the game will display an open window that displays the necessary requirements.
