But as with base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items are available from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade item - go source, fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can also influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
